Our Amazing Team
Bela Foundation Group is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to providing space for community gatherings. Our board members have been involved in various nonprofits and community groups in the bay area for decades.
Kyle Fischerr
President
Kyle Fischer has been engaged with local communities since he left his parent’s house for college at UC Berkeley where he began teaching computer skills to kids. He volunteered his time regularly at various nonprofit and queer events up until the pandemic, during which many of the places he contributed to closed. He has been pouring his effort and energy into the creation of Bela Foundation Group ever since, hoping to foster a stable, inclusive environment that people can rely upon. When not researching city law and regulations or filing endless amounts of paperwork, Kyle can be found hiking various south bay trails, playing games, and working on open source tooling.
Carissa Garcia
Director – Treasury, VP
Carissa Garcia is currently serving as the Financial Officer on the board of the Bela Foundation Group. In addition to her enthusiasm for community events and passion for local arts and culture, she brings experience in project management, procurement, and logistics management. She looks forward to the opportunities for local community support that the Bela Foundation Group will create.
Ann Abbott

Currently serving as Secretary on the board of the Bela Foundation Group, she brings a deep passion for organization and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.
With a strong background in social and human services, Ann has successfully designed programs, expanded outreach initiatives, and delivered engaging events that resonate with diverse audiences. Her four years in leadership roles at The Exiles sharpened her skills in strategic planning, volunteer coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
In addition to her work with the Bela Foundation Group, Ann is an active Angel in the Bonobos Network and volunteers as a dungeon monitor at various community events, showcasing her unwavering commitment to service and community involvement.
Nick Joebgen
Director
Nick is a resource within the Bay Area Kink Scene, serving as outreach director and consent liaison for the Society of Janus. He has, in the past, also served on a board of directors for a queer and accessibility focused initiative meant to help provide ways for community events to be more inclusive of queer attendees. When not involved in the vibrant Bay Area Kink scene, Nick focuses his energy towards helping better the game and board development communities. You’ll probably also catch him at a golf course on Sundays.
Greg Peterson
Director
Growing up, Greg always had a strong sense of community. Since the age of 12, he has volunteered for local charities and has done work as a camp counselor, high school coach, and now he owns a local game store where community growth is essential.
